Our New Apartment

Well with some very gentle reminders from my mother [thank you], I am updating all of you on our moving experience. It's our first move since we've been married. So here are some pictures of us packing up our old place.
This was still before we had packed a bunch of stuff. It was kind of in the last stages though, and when I was starting to freak out and wonder if I was going to get it all packed in time to move out.

And now for the new place!!!!
[Please excuse the messes.]
It is a basement apartment. However, when you're in it, it doesn't really seem like a basement because the ceilings are high and the rooms are pretty large! :)

So, we walk downstairs. :)
On the left we have our living room.
Here's the view from the door.

Here's the other side of the room.

Here's the back of the room. You can see the door over there that leads to our GIANT storage room.

If you had turned to the right, there is our kitchen. Bonnie and Chase and their family pretty much made our entire kitchen from scratch. When we first saw it, it was absolutely nothing, and so it's REALLY nice and all the appliances are SUPER awesomely nice! They totally hooked us up!

Back behind the fridge you can see the entrace to our pantry.

LOOK AT THAT DISHWASHER!!!!!!
Here is the second bedroom. It's small, but very functional now that we don't have to store everything in it!
[Please excuse the paper mess. I'm working on a project at the moment and I enjoy working on the floor rather than on a table.]
Yes, those are mirrors on the ceiling! haha! They really aren't that noticable, but I must say that it is a cool little touch that I very much enjoy.
Then there is a tiny hallway that has the bathroom. It is much smaller than our last one, but it's a bathroom that is functional and very nice!

Here is our bedroom! It's GIANT compared to our last one. Our bed and both the dressers fit in it, with room to spare!!! It's awesome! And there are lights behind that little ledge up above the head of the bed.

Also, since this is an old house, they have these really cool closets that have drawers too. There's one like this in the spare room too.

Also, while we were moving, we finally have something to compare the size of Steve's card collection to. OUR TRUNK! And this isn't even all of them!!! Besides all these, there are FOUR bins of other cards. It's somewhat ridiculous. But he think's my scrapbook stuff is silly, so it all works. :)

I hope you enjoyed your tour of our new place!

Jazz vs Grizzlies

Well we can thank mom for an awwwwwesome Christmas gift! Jazz tickets! WOO! We were VERY excited!

This is all the players coming out. We had awesome seats. We were in a great spot because we were on top of the portal entrance into the court area. And we were in the front row, so no one sat in front of us! Very nice!

We even got to sit right under the retired numbers. John Stockton is one of the far left ones from where we were.

Half time score. ooooooh yeaaaah.

This was just a moment before Memot Okur scored! I hope I spelled that name correctly.

And this is the final. Well, maybe not the final, because there were 8 seconds left. Now I think this was the final score. Either way, we clearly won! Oh yeah. Take that, Memphis!

We had a blast! Even though I don't enjoy basketball out of all the sports, I really enjoy the game atmosphere. So it was alot of fun.
And although Steve wasn't as "enthusiastic" as he is when we watch it at home or something, I know he had a good time! He was walking faster than I've ever seen him walk so we could get in our seats before tip off. We even ran up some flights of stairs. And we had to walk much slower afterwards so we didn't pass out. Yes, that's how cool we are.
We even got to see the Jazz bear help a guy propose on the jumbotron! It was cute. (She said yes, by the way.) The rest of the game, we were wondering how much it would cost to have the Jazz bear come up to you help you and then to get it on video on the jumbotron. We came up the amount of, alot. :)

Christmas 2009

Sorry. Updating this blog really takes alot of motivation for me!
Here's Christmas-y things for all the enjoy!
Sadly, there aren't many pictures. Especially of us. Sad. But also, it was a pretty normal Christmas with the fam!
So here's a really bad pictures of Santa at our ward Christmas party! Wooooo.

This is Christmas Day. Brennan got a very cute hat for Christmas. And it was sooooo cute! And for some reason he thought I was hilarious. (He probably just thought my face looks weird.) So he was laughing up a storm! So there were about 2039 cameras pointed at him. So here are Steve's pictures on our camera.
He's a little baby Newsie!

Is that smile not just cute??! So that was fun!
Other than Christmas with the fam, we went to 3, count them, 3, white elephant parties. One being with the family. I've never been to that many in one Christmas season before. It was fun!
I was definitely homesick this Christmas. But hopefully we'll be able to visit soon! I miss Monical's and Steak N' Shake!!! Oh yeah, and my family! ;)

Temple Square with the fam!

Last Sunday, Jen had a concert in the Assembly Hall at Temple Square. And of course, the lights were wondrous! So here are some pictures. :)

This is a picture from the side of the reflection pond like down the street. My camera doesn't do the view justice at all.

This is a close up. You can see the nativity scene floating on the water better. I'd like it alot better without that us bank sign in the background. haha.

These next two are Kristin, Kaydence, Will, and Brennan. They forgot their camera. But they were stinkin' cuties!

I wanted to take pictures of Jen's performance because we had some PRIME spots for seeing Jen play piano. But pictures were prohibited. And oh yeah, my camera died. But she did well, you can take my word for it! She even played the tamborine fantastically!!!!

I think the picture tells it all. But we REALLY REALLY REALLY want you to have a good holiday season!!!! :)

Happy Holidays!!!

We spent the Thanksgiving holiday at the Saunders cabin up in Idaho. I wish I had taken some pictures to put on here. But we had alot of fun. I'm glad I married Steven and his entire giant family. Now I can have the stereotypically huge LDS family. :) We spent the night on Wednesday night to be there in the morning. And we had a ginormous feast! It was alot of fun.

Then we came home and had Monica over for soup and A Christmas Story. I'm also glad for my small immediate family that is so relaxed and close. I get the best of both worlds! Even though it's harder since we all live so far apart. If only teleportation was possible! :)

So, obviously, this year we are so thankful for family. In all shapes, sizes, colors, and arrangements. We love you all! You all make our life wondrous!
Also, I've been sooo appreciating flushing toilets, electricity, and heating this year! I don't know why--But I've just realizing how much it truly is a blessing, and how much harder we would have it back in the day.

Also...today... we went shopping. On black Friday.
Now, I'm not always a fan of shopping any day really. But especially on black friday. All the crowds, and all the horror stories I've heard totally just turn me off to the whole idea. But Steve got off work early, and there were a few things we wanted for decorations. So around lunch time we decided to take the Back Friday adventure. And it really wasn't that bad. Luckily, nothing we needed was in the electronics. That's where the REAL crowds were. Just looking at all of them over there made me queasy. But we got some good stuff and some good deals! :)

Including this flannel sheet set!!! I fell in love with it once I saw it! And it was on sale! And we've been super cold in our apartment lately, so we're really excited for these to keep us warm!!!

And when we got home for the evening, we put up our Christmas tree. Usually I try to wait until At least the 1st of December. But since we were home already, WHY NOT!? And so we put up our new ornaments, and garland. Lots of fun! WEEE I love Christmas!

And here's the more lit up idea...

Well, I certainly love the holidays and can't wait to start making our Christmas cards! :)
Hope you're all having a wonderful start to your holiday season!
