Temple Square with the fam!

Last Sunday, Jen had a concert in the Assembly Hall at Temple Square. And of course, the lights were wondrous! So here are some pictures. :)

This is a picture from the side of the reflection pond like down the street. My camera doesn't do the view justice at all.

This is a close up. You can see the nativity scene floating on the water better. I'd like it alot better without that us bank sign in the background. haha.

These next two are Kristin, Kaydence, Will, and Brennan. They forgot their camera. But they were stinkin' cuties!

I wanted to take pictures of Jen's performance because we had some PRIME spots for seeing Jen play piano. But pictures were prohibited. And oh yeah, my camera died. But she did well, you can take my word for it! She even played the tamborine fantastically!!!!

I think the picture tells it all. But we REALLY REALLY REALLY want you to have a good holiday season!!!! :)

Happy Holidays!!!

We spent the Thanksgiving holiday at the Saunders cabin up in Idaho. I wish I had taken some pictures to put on here. But we had alot of fun. I'm glad I married Steven and his entire giant family. Now I can have the stereotypically huge LDS family. :) We spent the night on Wednesday night to be there in the morning. And we had a ginormous feast! It was alot of fun.

Then we came home and had Monica over for soup and A Christmas Story. I'm also glad for my small immediate family that is so relaxed and close. I get the best of both worlds! Even though it's harder since we all live so far apart. If only teleportation was possible! :)

So, obviously, this year we are so thankful for family. In all shapes, sizes, colors, and arrangements. We love you all! You all make our life wondrous!
Also, I've been sooo appreciating flushing toilets, electricity, and heating this year! I don't know why--But I've just realizing how much it truly is a blessing, and how much harder we would have it back in the day.

Also...today... we went shopping. On black Friday.
Now, I'm not always a fan of shopping any day really. But especially on black friday. All the crowds, and all the horror stories I've heard totally just turn me off to the whole idea. But Steve got off work early, and there were a few things we wanted for decorations. So around lunch time we decided to take the Back Friday adventure. And it really wasn't that bad. Luckily, nothing we needed was in the electronics. That's where the REAL crowds were. Just looking at all of them over there made me queasy. But we got some good stuff and some good deals! :)

Including this flannel sheet set!!! I fell in love with it once I saw it! And it was on sale! And we've been super cold in our apartment lately, so we're really excited for these to keep us warm!!!

And when we got home for the evening, we put up our Christmas tree. Usually I try to wait until At least the 1st of December. But since we were home already, WHY NOT!? And so we put up our new ornaments, and garland. Lots of fun! WEEE I love Christmas!

And here's the more lit up idea...

Well, I certainly love the holidays and can't wait to start making our Christmas cards! :)
Hope you're all having a wonderful start to your holiday season!

Pumpkin time!

Well, Friday night we carved our pumpkins! We have had the pumpkins for a while now, but haven't had enough time to sit down and carve them. So tonight was the night.

We couldn't come up with anything cool or creative on our own. So we got on the internet and found some stencil things to use.
And got to CARVING!

I am so impressed with Steve's pumpkin! I always have the hardest time carving and doing curvy designs. So the fact that Steve did those eyes so well and the S is so awesome!!!

Our finished products! :)
What a cute couple!

Have a happy Halloween week! :)

GOOD MORNING!!!

[heehee]

I thought that picture would wake everyone up! :) We will be playing catch up today because there's been no big events, so I never thought to blog about anything. But I realized it had been a long time since I'd blogged and decided to roll all the events into one big one.
So, obviously, Steve had an eye doctor appointment...
We went to a Saunders family reunion and took some fun pictures! :)

I had my 22nd birthday. This is that morning getting one of my favorite movies for a gift! Wee!!!

We played jenga!...kinda.
We had a family picnic and Miley just plain loves her Grandpa Harkness! And she is such a cutie!

Kaydence learned how to drive our car while we were there!

We observed some of Heavenly Father's wondrous creations. Although the drive up the mountain scares me and makes me think we're going to drive off the side of the mountain... it is always worth it to see the beautiful colors and mountains that Heavenly Father has given us to remind us of the beauty of the earth.

And once, while shopping, I saw REAL LIVE STIRRUP PANTS for sale!!! Holy kansas!!!

I have had some incredible testimony building experiences this weekend and have realized how wonderful this gospel of Jesus Christ is. It is full of promises of peace and blessings. It is true. I love Heavenly Father's plan of salvation, and Jesus Christ's atonement and sacrifice for us.
I love autumn because the colorful leaves remind me that I am loved and known imtimately by a loving Father in heaven.

Our First Anniversary!

It's been an entire year! HOORAY! We still love each other!!!! haha. We really do, and I'm so glad we were able to celebrate together! We went out to eat at The Old Spaghetti Facotry at Trolley Square. It was fun. They gave us these boxes for our leftovers, and the decorated them! :) We had a little fun!

Why is there a baked potato in my purse?? haha. Just kidding. It's just the leftover bread from dinner.

The morning of August 6th, yesterday, we went and did sealings at the Jordan River Temple to celebrate! We were with a group that was so glad to have us. Which was a plus! :) I hadn't done sealings for the dead before, but I'm glad we did. And I plan on doing it much more in the future.
Of course, we had to eat our frozen top layer of our wedding cake. But I was so full from the dinner we ate right before, that I only ate one bite. But I'll be having more in a few moments. It was pretty yummy!

YUMMERS!

Fun things we {LOVE}

Well this is kind of a silly post. But, again, we've done some fun things and wanted to share them. :) So we went to a Raptor's game, and had some stinky seats...so we left early. And got a 5 dollar slushie thing on the way out. It wasn't worth it. Oh well, good times!

I did a scrapbook day with Kristin again and did this cuuuuute picture that mom took of me and Rachel this past visit I had to Arkansas/Indy. This was at David's t-ball game. And it was too cute to pass up for a scrapbook page. This is now my other favorite page I've done. I love it!

Well, one day Steve and I had to go on campus and we passed the one place we used to walk by all the time. And then there was this STRRRRANGE piece of art. But when we looked at it long enough, all we could think of was "SEUSSICAL!!!!" So we HAD to take pictures with it because it was so wonderful! And i'm so glad we're going to have it on campus to walk by it all the time!

Have a good one! :)

I'm gettin' my creative on!

Well, I've kinda been scrapbooking alot lately trying to experiment with new techniques and learn new things... by making many mistakes. heehee. I always get so down on myself because I can't think of any layouts or ideas that are original. So I got a new scrapbook, and I decided it would be my experimental book where I would just go for it and try anything I wanted to try...and learn!

So tonight, I went for it!
And I made my most favorite-est-est page I have ever done in my life! I'm so excited! So I just wanted to show everyone the page I did, and I'm so excited I'm learning...even though I'm making mistakes. :)

Random thoughts...

Well, these aren't necessarily in order, but they are events that have occurred in just the past little while. They are all wonderfully exciting in their own ways! :) So here is our ever-increasingly exciting life!

We went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house. It was truly wonderful, and soooo beautiful! And we got to see the Jordan River Temple while we were there, just down the hill. I'm so glad we had the chance to go!

Our voluntary Young Woman photog said she'd get the whole temple in. I guess she forgot how in the heat of the moment...

We went to a murder mystery party with Steve's sister and some of her friends. We had alot of fun! It was 50's style, so we got to dress up! I was Miss Kansas City, a beauty pageant winner. And Steve was Johnny Angel. Turns out, Miss Kansas City was the murderer! EEPS!

We went to one of Dallin's last T-ball games! They had a TONS of fun, I could totally tell. And Steve got this PERFECT picture of Dallin while he ran to first base. He has suuuuch a huge smile as he ran! I love it! I wish I knew how to crop it...maybe Monica can work her magic with it. It'd be sooo cute up close!

So on the 4th of July, Steve took me to the place he usually goes to to see the fireworks. Weber High...his old high school. (Or the bomb shelter, as he calls it. It has like only 2 winders in the whole school.) So we went, and Steve's sister and some of her friends came with us too. We went early to get a good spot to sit, and took phase ten to play. While we were playing, some loser high school kid was running backwards to catch a frisbee. Apparently he didn't realize that there were a few hundred other people there besides him.
My back was toward him, and he TOOOOTALLY trampled over me, and like, kicked me in the kidney. So this is a poor attempt to take a picture of my bruise...but my camera kiiinda stinks. It was much yellower than the picture shows.Speaking of my stinky camera...
I'm COMPLETELY ASTONDED with how well this picture came out, since I took it with MY camera. haha. But it was a beautiful sunset, and the flag had the perfect amount of breeze to make a cool picture. So I tried, and was pleasantly surprised! :)
Have a wonderful week!
I love my country! WOOOOO!!!

Catching Up! (cont.)

Well after many attempts to upload pictures and finally achieving success, here's some more pictures. :)
A few weeks ago, we had an awesome thunderstorm and it hailed! It was the best thunderstorm since I've lived in Utah! But it was sooo short. But I had to get a picture of this hail since storms are so rare.
Here's my haircut. I like it alot! So much easier to do and take a lot less time!

Alright. So it's storytime...
Our bed is king size. And since we've lived in this apartment, the only thing that fits in our bedroom is just the bed and the nightstands. I've HATED having our dresser in the other room. It's not that far away, but it really just bugs me!
Lately, Steve and I have been talking about pushing the bed into the corner so the dresser could fit. So while Steve was at work on Friday, I got really ambitious and started to clean out the bedroom so we could rearrange when he got home. Well I finished cleaning it out around 3, and he doesn't get home until 6. So I was thinking, "I'll just do it myself. No biggie."
Yeah, uh, soooo I CLEARLY did not help them move the bed IN when we moved into the apartment...but I extremely underestimated the weight of the mattress. I started to slide it off the boxsprings, and I was fine. Then I tried to lift it and lean it on the wall so I could slide it into the living room to move it. That was the moment I realized what I mess I got myself into. Niiiice...
I also wore myself out so much trying like, five times to lift the mattress, that I couldn't slide it back onto the boxsprings. So I just left it where it was until Steven got home. haha.
And I made quite a mess out of the living room when I cleaned out the bedroom drawers and under the bed.

Well those are our most exciting endeavors lately. Enjoy! :)
